Community Club Leaders Message:

Hello Jamul Chaparros!

It was so great to see so many new faces at our first meeting! Please take the time to introduce yourselves when you see a new member!  And of course, we are always happy to see our returning members’ faces as well!

Our calendar is already slowly filling up with 4-H events. Please check below to get them on your calendar.

Speaking of events, many of our project leaders are requiring volunteer hours as a part of the successful completion of projects.  This is a fun and easy way to support your club. We expect each of our members/families to volunteer at one event this year. There are plenty of ways to do that and we will keep you filled in on those opportunities. One of the first events, the Fall Festival, is coming up. We need members to help staff our petting zoo that will be held at the Jamul Intermediate School. Everyone is welcome to attend this fun festival that will include games, food, costumes, and trick or treating!

Please don’t forget to enroll on-line. Go to and get started. It’s a simple process that we are happy to help you with if needed. Please don’t forget to get us a hardcopy of your Health History and Youth Treatment forms. These forms are available to download during enrollment. Enrollment fees are $45 per member.

You should be hearing shortly from your project leaders! They are busy finishing up their paperwork and are looking forward to meeting with all of you!  Please do not forget that in addition to giving your club leaders a copy of the above forms, you need to provide EACH of your project leaders a Youth Treatment Authorization form with an ORIGINAL signature on them.

You should all have a summary of projects, a contact list for our project leaders, and a master calendar IF you attended our first meeting,. Please contact Wendy at or Kelli at  if you need any of these items.

October is a fun month with events such as the Fall Festival and the Jamul Parade. The parade is a fun opportunity to get in some exercise, meet the community, and show-off your Jamul Chaparros Pride!

See you at our next Unit Meeting, Tuesday, October 11th at 6:30pm at the Jamul Primary School.

Wendy and Kelli

President’s Message

Welcome all new members.  I hope you all have a great 4-H year!  Don’t forget to come to the Fall Festival petting zoo next month.  It’s really fun and you can wear your Halloween costume!

Returning Members:   Your record books and/or annual project reports are due to us by October 21st. Please consider getting them to us at the Unit Meeting. If you are unable to complete them by then, please contact Wendy or Kelli for other arrangements. Annual project reports are attached to this email. EVERY member who would like to receive their pin/stripe and stars need to provide these completed forms to us.

Jamul Chaparros Pride T-Shirts:  Please consider showing your Jamul Chaparros Pride by sporting a club t-shirt at all 4-H events!  You may purchase a t-shirt from our Supply Officer, Jason Morris, at any unit meeting.

Junior Leadership Camp:  Nov. 4 – 6, more details to come
