Community Club Leaders Message:

Hello Jamul Chaparros!

Just one more Unit Meeting of this 4-H year! The year has certainly seemed to go by in a flash!

We hope to see all of you for our year-end potluck  on June 13th at 6:30 pm.  The club will be providing pizza and drinks. Please bring a dessert to share.

Congratulations to all of our new and returning board members! This organization is for our youth members and run by them as well. Their support as club officers is paramount to a successful 4-H club and we love seeing them take charge!

The  4-H Summer Camp is right around the corner. For a traditional summer camp experience, consider sending your member. 4-H Summer Camp: June 18-24 ( $275.00 if registered before May 1 (scholarships are available). Please contact Kelli or Wendy for more information if interested.

Send 4-H “Good Luck” Clover thoughts to Katy Dick and Carter Teasdale who will  be heading up to UC Davis for the California State 4-H Field Day! We wish them lots of luck and can’t wait to hear about their experiences at the last unit meeting.

See you at our LAST Unit Meeting and potluck, Tuesday June 13th at 6:30pm at the Jamul Primary School.

Wendy and Kelli

President’s Message

I had a fun time at the fair last week.  I’m so proud of our club.  We may be small, but we always do well because our members are so dedicated!

I would like to thank the families that came out to help prepare and serve dinner at the fair on Thursday.  We served 180 meals in 30 minutes!  We couldn’t have been so successful without all the help from… Laura & Katy, Angel & her mom, Diego & Jaime Louis, Wendy & Wyatt & Carter, Tom & Kelli & Sydney, Alix

Project Reports

Project leaders! Please consider providing a summary of your projects for inclusion into the newsletter!

Oratory Project

Nira Clark led our Oratory Project this year and three of our members, Sara and Jane Clark and Carter Teasdale, competed at both Area V and County Presentation Days. All three of them performed well, receiving gold ratings at both events.  Mrs. Clark spent a lot of Friday afternoons with the members practicing their presentations and providing them with skills for public speaking!  Thank you to Nira for a great and successful project!

Computer and Website Design Project

The Computer and Website Design Project meeting updated the date of the next Unit Meeting on the home page and added the pictures taken at the May Unit Meeting.  The club Web Calendar was updated with the latest information.  The newsletter was emailed to the members and added to the web site.  The project plans on adding more of the historical Acornicle newsletters to the web site archives so they can be read on-line at  The next project meeting is scheduled for June 18.  If you are interested in the project, send an email to

Gene Peterson – Computer Project Leader, and Webmaster

Kudos Corner:  We know that our 4-Hers are busy and successful outside of 4-H as well! Please send us items that you would like to share with our group and we will include them in our Kudos Corner.  Got straight As on a report card?  Are you working towards Boy Scout or Girl Scout badges?  Did your sports team do well this weekend?  4-H is all about using our Heads, Hearts, Hands, and Health so let's celebrate when we do!
